Drought

Drought

A Poem by Pete
"

How much nature herself suffers from drought! It seems quite as much as she can do to produce these crops. - Thoreau

"
UN: number and duration of droughts has ...

watering the grass in his boxer shorts
flinging dog s**t at passers-by
cursing in gibberish
eating food long past expiration date

he was in pain
insane in the membrane
a fate worse than that which abel suffered at the hands of cain
i blame it on no rain

Author's Note

Pete
“The life in us is like the water in the river. It may rise this year higher than man has ever known it, and flood the parched uplands; even this may be the eventful year, which will drown out all our muskrats. It was not always dry land where we dwell.” - Thoreau

Indeed, we are in a weird state of affairs Pete, old man rain has not shown his face in many parts of the world where people are in starvation... from cracked earth to wilting flowers, to brown grass....yet in southern U.S...we are having floods...I guess we have to blame it on global warming.... and it's way too hot as well....when the earth is parched...so are we...like Thoreau says" The life in us is like the water in the river"... and that's true...great comparison

We don’t always acknowledge it but the weather can definitely affect our moods and make us agitated or slightly insane when it’s too hot and lack of rain. Many things can affect our mood when it come to nature including a full moon. Luckily your man wasn’t showing his lol
