Nothing To Wear

Nothing To Wear

A Poem by Pete
"

And so the seasons went rolling on into summer, as one rambles into higher and higher grass. - Thoreau

"
Weather turns a cold shoulder on ...

oh winter, where went your cryogenic sting
your frigid, chap-lipped kiss
your frozen embrace

you turned a cold shoulder
granting spring an inch
as it passed the baton to steal a mile

oh summer, with your hot, flaming temper
fervent, wide-brimmed hat
humid, saturated sense of humor
steamy conversation
sultry dance of seduction

what a world
with its two-faced smile
beguiled
winds of change whirled
hair curled
trees burled
and passing flags unfurled

.

It is sultry and sweltering here but I do better with the heat than the cold.
"We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun." Rod McKuen I guess we all must weather the "winter of our discontent" as well. Nicely written, F.
