A Better Place Called Home

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. - Thoreau

Emerald City | Legends of the Multi ...

caught in a headache of a twister
with crystal balls and monkey wings
faith, flesh and a few other escoteric things
traveling lightly
my footprints barely discernable
they lay their snares on faux, yellow brick roads maintained by munchkins
seeking to condemn
creating sheer and utter mayhem
swallowing their own phlegm
not realizing that i'm not like them
picking flowers for the stem
as i click the heels of worn-out, ruby slippers
so i can get back home to auntie Em
a place with heart, brains and courage
forgetting them
and their phony, tarnished diadem

I love this reference to wizard of oz and the phony things happening in this delusion. Other than Toto, the flying monkeys and horse of many colors I wasn’t fond of the movie, oh and of course I liked the wicked witch of the west
