Double ClutchingA Poem by PeteThose undeserved joys which come uncalled and make us more pleased than grateful are they that sing. - Thoreaugranting my faithful, four-legged companion free reign i laid down on a carpet of vernal grasshe rolled and frolicked about squirming and slithering upside down beside me touching belly rubs his pleasure an explosion of unfettered, freewheeling whimsy jumping on and off of me occasional sprints at full speed in circles about the pinnacle of liberation's merriment without the shout in a coronation of laughter a matriculation in an unfettered, faded, institution for a time i had no troubles, no worries nary a care both of us wearing pure, uninhibited happiness joy if you will curious, jealous clouds congregated above with puffed-out chests a hint of eternity along with a blessing in the late may air souls touching double clutching aye, a very special prayer © 2024 PeteAuthor's Note
