Growing, Rotting And Jotting

Growing, Rotting And Jotting

A Poem by Pete
"

While England endeavors to cure the potato-rot, will not any endeavor to cure the brain-rot, which prevails so much more widely and fatally? - Thoreau

"
Junkyard cars fill woods of north Georgia

forget me for who i wasn't
remember me for who i'm not
know that ample tears, rain and time
all make heavy steel and dry wood rot

Author's Note

Pete
"…Hard green wood just cut, though I used but little of that, answered my purpose better than any other. I sometimes left a good fire when I went to take a walk in a winter afternoon; and when I returned three or four hours afterward, it would be still alive and glowing. My house was not empty though I was gone. It was as if I had a cheerful housekeeper behind. It was I and Fire that lived there; and commonly my housekeeper proved trustworthy." - Thoreau

A walk of thought and ponder for the mind and ears and eyes. All senses told me of a need to be something of greenwood as well, to return to a trusting keeper and tidy maid of the nature of our being so to speak. Love that truck! Thanks for the pathway to a walk I had not intended this day.

'forget' and 'remember', paralleled with 'not' made me take a 'pause' and then I smiled. You rule over the magic of 'brevity', Pete

There above are four lines that could be saying what one's interpretation says. But, both you and your guide leave much for the reader's intuition at times, but here there is more than valuable advice. Thank you, Pete.

I owed you a few giggles! Tarrah for now.
a moment in time, a thought, a ponder.... eventually over time and with rain in nature, trees will rot, fire will turn to embers but even then, there is a certain beauty to them....so, I guess that may apply to us humans...we tend to rot as well, slightly differently....love the photo, now listening to the music as I write this....I would have photographed that truck and then painted it.... great

Powerful work. You paint a story in your brevity of words.
