Taking Parking Lots Seriously, as Public Spaces - The New York Times

i'm alone
all alone

so alone

a mouse roaring in the grand canyon
a person running a three-legged race with no companion

a fish gone too far up and over niagara
an old man looking for a rise with no viagra

a soldier without a mission
an antsy, unregistered politician constantly changing position

i search for thoreau's marrow but someone keeps moving his cheese
in order to kiss the sky, you still have to get down upon your knees

my skin grows wrinkled under an unforgiving sun
looking over my shoulder, i begin to worry when life seems too much fun
how will i ever finish this turtle race
maybe i should pick up the pace, stop giving chase or hire a new attorney to take up my case
this life is one big parking lot
and i can never seem to find a space

Oh the chaos that life can bring and how we wish it was going a different direction and at least not feel like climbing a mountain.

Sometimes we feel the weight of the universe on our shoulders and want a little shard of hope to keep us moving forward and finding some sort of peace

thanks twc. i wish you better luck parking.
I can't find a decent parking space in malls or shopping centers for people take the first rows: I try to avoid crowded places and spaces. I like how you cover all these different scenarios in life. I see where you mention Niagara with Viagra; I guess both gush out and overflow. Wow!

Hehehe! So true and well said. As long as you don't burn it, you are fine.
