Band Of Gypsies

Band Of Gypsies

A Poem by Pete
"

Tribute to Jimi Hendrix.

"
A photo of Jimi Hendrix playing guitar

leading a band
the myth, the legend, the man
"choppin' down a mountain with the edge of his hand"
i don't like to swear or take the lord's name in vain but, "god damn"
sticking bridge pins in dolls
overflowing concert halls
blowing down the walls

mightier than the mississippi
passing through poughkeepsie
holding the horse's reigns as the head gypsy
living his dream, all the while
playing with fire, like a voodo chile
he and the guitar like a hand in a glove
picking and strumming a push to a shove
"and the gods made love"

He got lots of honors for his pioneering work and was instrumental in many ways. Some call him a legend in instrumentals.
A great honor from you sir to him.
