teasingly

as piano keys in my head stride a ten digit race

gliding over ivory ice while they pick up the pace

pleasingly

heartache vanishes

with nary a trace

heading out the door

i choose a new day's mask for my face

ever in search of grace

as the director shouts, "places everyone"

unaware of my lines, i look around and wonder

what is this strange place

Choose a new mask for the day…
We all don masks to hide how we really feel from time to time and we have different sides to ourselves, home, friend, parent, night out and work. Depends on whom we are with and where we are at.

Feeling like an actor in a twisted movie plot or even a book. Sometimes it’s like what the hell is going on. I have those moments all the time.

after a while, we have so many masks that we don't know which one to put on and what part we're supposed to be playing. you really gleaned a lot from this, i don't think you missed a thing.
