Now And Forever

Now And Forever

A Poem by Pete
"

Where there is a brave man, in the thickest of the fight, there is the post of honor. - Thoreau

"
Regimental Pipers - Bagpipes ay a Funeral

far off in the distance
marking time
standing the test of ages
gallant song of the wailing skirl carried on the backs of eagles

merged trickle of tears and blood
cold, unwavering granite
single roses set at the feet where principled life meets aloof ground
fossilized bones whispering unrelenting tales

now and forever
through a raised, rusted, porticullus
candles burn, etching names in stained glass and annals of history
rest in peace brave souls
eternity is yours

An honoring poem from an honorable poet; you keep their memories alive in the annals of history.
May you live long to tell of their marked sacrifice.

So true and well articulated. You are welcome sir Pete.
Very cool, like a Viking song or a Highland Scot reminiscent of Brave-Heart, a warrior tune that rallies to battle, to honor, to freedom! I love it.

thanks fgf. we can never repay such a debt as lives given for our freedom.
Flower left as a memorial to those who have died and now have final peace. A solemn thought but to those who knew them intimately and well; can bring a humble or fond memory
