Drenched Or Dry (Tell me)A Poem by PeteThe forests are held cheap after the white pine has been culled out; and the explorers and hunters pray for rain only to clear the atmosphere of smoke. - Thoreautell me who cries for the rain knows its pain bandages its sprain lends it a cane heals its disdain spitting its frigid forms, no two the same tell me who picks its brain skews its aim steers its out-of-control train flushes its flooding remnants down the drain easing its bane covering its shame letting it lean when its lame causing my sunned and showered flesh to age whilst my soul stays the same tell me what's his name disclaim or proclaim take careful aim please explain © 2024 PeteAuthor's Note
