The Right Song to Come AlongA Poem by PeteWe never exchange more than three words with a friend in our lives on that level to which our thoughts and feelings almost habitually rise. - Thoreau. seething and churning like emulsifying butter tears of joy and rain running along a tin roof's clogged gutter a gallow's noose tied with dental floss hanging 'round my neck like a ponderous albatross thoughts and memories, siamese twins of feeling along with conjoined emotionsimmered and stirred like a magic potion rising up in a tidal swell spinning 'round like an elegiac carousel a merry-go-round i don't always ride so well intermittent, blinding glimpses of heaven with occasional, parting gazes of hell deep within a soul where sentiments not-so-quietly choose to dwell dark and hazy ambitious and lazy lucid and crazy crystal clear closer than near jumping out and grabbing, running and hiding as they ambush then disappear precious gems and tossed plastic holistic and caustic right or wrong, weak and strong in and out like a fat lady's thong they can't all be wrong it won't be long they're just waiting for the right song to come along © 2023 PeteAuthor's Note
