Fine by Me

Fine by Me

A Poem by Pete
"

When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest. - Thoreau

melody a kickin'
bobbin' my head like a chicken
finger lickin'
rhythm-stricken

tappin' my feet
mouthin' the words
flying through the sky on the wings of ariose birds
every note
every chord
when i'm down
when i'm bored

each beat of the pounded drum
each and every reverberating strum
giving me cause to hum
every pluck of the bass
infusing me with heavenly grace
whisking me away to anyplace
pickin' up the pace
helpin' me to finish the race

wrapped around me like a comfy sweater
the louder the better
no matter the genre, no matter the key
infusing and lifting the world that i see
no better way to be
and that's just

fine by me
