Begotten

Begotten

A Poem by Pete
"

Every child begins the world again. - Thoreau

"
Pin on Tothesoul

emotions running high
a time to be born and a time to die
answers to questions like how and why
wondering if it should go or stay
lots to think about and feel with much more to pray
the night was pregnant with a new day
breach but still within reach
with its own soapbox upon which to preach
a stark reminder that clorox isn't the only one who makes bleach

whether slapping rattling, bongo drums or a baby's tender bottom
sweet wine fermented from grapes once thought rotten
darkness fades as it's longer forgotten
faith alive along with its inseperable twin hope
"yes" trumps "nope"
laughing
singing
dancing
rejoicing
giving thanks
diapered with comforting cotton

begotten

Like the way you worked Ecclesiastes 3 into stanza one. Like also the way you worked birth and childhood into other parts of the poem. Yes, every new life represents a new chance, a new opportunity to undo the darkness.
