from afar, i gaze in heaven's direction

winged angels offering their haloed protection

having passed through hell

riding a salty, ashen, swirling, ocean swell

everything that came

all that befell

still alive to tell

to dwell and quell

breathe and smell

to ring the morning's bell

crusted eyes that both blink and wink

better to feel than think

joining together with the missing link

to write with the marrow of blood, sweat and tears rather than liquid ink

when you pray remember to raise your arms and kneel

truth never compromises or cuts a deal

beg, borrow or steal

what is this place where i abide

this place where satan lied

where hyenas never cried

I wonder

am i merely

Awee, Pete. I have been searching for something on this site that I have struggled to put into words. An indescribable feeling. I've been waiting to bump into art that stops me in my tracks. That makes me say "this is it, I've found what I've been looking for."

I feel that with your most recent writing. I have gone through nearly 9 of your poems back to back, all effortless reads. And several of them honestly made me emotional. I'm still emotional typing this. But I have to express gratitude for the amount of catharsis I feel right now.

I must say you nailed it marvelously where it affects so many things whether people realize it or not. You can be born and raised in another country, place, culture and have different effects on your upbringing, outlook on life, education and so forth.
