Where Birds Swim and Fish Fly

Where Birds Swim and Fish Fly

A Poem by Pete
"

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of feeble minds. - Thoreau

"
Summer's splendid purple patch in full bloom | The Land | NSW

scream me a secret
whisper a lie
don't be shy

mumble that which is already known
blanket the truth
keep your emotions
hold your feelings
pray to the sky
release my laugh and clutch my cry
quickly
before tomorrow rises and today lies down to die

night is day and day is night
the tide is never completely right
be patient and sit tight
don't look for reasons
ask the silent gavel, "why?"
in this imperial place
where birds swim and fish fly

it seems like you are speaking to someone, or perhaps to nature itself... "pray to the sky".... you also seem to question nature...the tides, night and day...you are one with nature....the whispers, the feelings, the feelings. the laughs....rhyming is quite good...

Nicely rhymed and excellently timed; I feel the poet's release of someone or something, questioning what befell before and after. The wh's are so important in the greater scheme of things.
