One Lump Or Two

One Lump Or Two

I did not know that mankind was suffering for want of gold. - Thoreau

What Is the World's Biggest Gold Nugget? - WorldAtlas

winter ever a homeless debtor
summer sheds its knitted sweater
nothing could be better
crystallized, noon spirits dance a jocose jig
a cobwebbed night is falling
whilst a viagaratic day is calling
arms flailing and legs sprawling
sorrow bawling
tell me, where went yesterday's pain
along with its drenching, pouring rain
thank heaven tears don't leave a stain

the music is always alive
it has to be
sung with tongues of fire
played with aureate fingers that can't lie
eternity won't lie down and die let alone cry
breathed with life's truth
a gilded sun plays peekaboo
nothing else matters
trees stand tall in pews as they pray
because there's no other way
destiny does that which it must do
right on cue
black and blue

one lump or two
