Letting The Days Go By

opposites attract
it's a matter of fact
there are twisted truths in lies
a potatoe can become french fries
sanity in insanity
prayer in desperation
salt in perspiration

the sun and moon each have their blessed pull
darkness is merely absence of light
to be willing to let something go is to love it tight
to reach out in faith is to gain sight
it feels better to say, "i will" rather than, "i might"
wrong or right

time only matters when you look forward or back
it may drag or lag
at least it doesn't brag
that which is good can never die
oceans wave but they never say hello or goodbye
rivers don't cry
can't, don't and won't
could, should or would
no need to ask why

letting the days go by

Your poem is a beautiful meditation on the many contradictions and complexities of life. I loved the way you explored the idea of duality and the many opposing forces that exist in the world. Your use of vivid imagery and powerful language really brought these ideas to life, and I found myself captivated by the way you explored the themes of transformation and change. The line "to be willing to let something go is to love it tight" was particularly powerful, and I think it really speaks to the way that we often need to let go of things in order to truly appreciate them. I also loved the way you explored the idea of time, and the many ways in which it can be both a blessing and a curse. Your poem is a beautiful reminder to live in the moment and appreciate the beauty of life as it unfolds.
