Need To Knead

Need To Knead

A Poem by Pete
"

All men want, not something to do with, but something to do, or rather something to be. - Thoreau

"
Older adults and adults with disabilities: In need of care but financially strapped | UCLA

deny me, will i not need
cut me, will i not bleed
convict me, will i not plead
scatter me, i am seed
pray me, i am creed
do something, anything, i am deed

there is great and there is greater
a hole can turn into a crater
to  betray makes one a traitor
to forego is to save it for later
in some places a potato is a tater
now where is that waiter

liberate me, i am freed
take too much, i am greed
don't follow me, i am unable to lead
my thoughts and emotions give birth to poetry but only a brain can read
stubbornly i concede
to make bread is to knead
agreed

Author's Note

Pete
"There appears to exist a greater desire to live long than to live well! Measure by man's desires, he cannot live long enough; measure by his good deeds, and he has not lived long enough; measure by his evil deeds, and he has lived too long." - Thoreau
