Heaven Unearthed

Heaven Unearthed

A Poem by Pete
"

The world laughs in flowers. - Thoreau

"
Outsidepride Northeast Wildflower Seed Mix - 1 LB

filling my face and mug with bold morning java
spoons of buttercups thick in the meadow like molten lava
pinches of lavender 'hind each ear
zinnias smiling their good cheer
marigolds preaching unclaimed wealth
intrepid but stealth

daisies along with baby's breath holding their own
vigor, splendor and hues sewn
spotlight of creation glittering
curtain call of eternity birthed
faith dispersed

heaven unearthed

Author's Note

Pete
"I can alter my life by altering my attitude. He who would have nothing to do with thorns must never attempt to gather flowers. If the day and night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal - that is your success." - Thoreau
