Nothing And Everything

Nothing And Everything

Thoughts and Questions from Aramis Thorn: Holy Ground Reprise ~ Cracked Rear Vision

tears long since gone dry
no longer bothering to ask why
i walk the streets with nothing
same streets i walked with everything
same songs 'pon my now parched lips
same rhythms in my weary heart
same faith in my heavy soul
same invisible air guitar so loud and bold
only now i'm getting old
creases in my forehead turned to a fold

the rearview mirror is cracked
but there's nothing to see
nothing i haven't seen before
life doesn't always play fair
but we can even the score
by refusing to open the door
finding a way for more
deep down in the core
finding a reason
embracing a new season

returning home
same dust
same itches i can never reach to scratch
same pictures on the wall
same phone that no one bothers to call
you can't rise without a fall
causing me to realize that

i've always had it all
