Since When Is It A Crime To Rhyme?

Since When Is It A Crime To Rhyme?

A Poem by Pete

How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live. - Thoreau

Rhyming Dictionary | Find your prime rhyme in no time!

many times
i've asked myself why i'm so inclined to rhyme
well, twice a day a twelve-hour clock points to the same time
it takes two nickels to equal a dime
having to use repetitive motions because you're not allowed to speak when you're a mime
the more orders you place with amazon the more sense it makes to get prime
two "i am's" are greater than one "i'm"
it takes more than one piece of dirt to make grime
more than one piece of anything hanging in the wind to make a chime
you need thick plus messy to create slime
there are eight hundred keys for lime
besides

since when is assonance a crime

Well I had to look up assonance, so now I get it; It's never a crime to rhyme; I wish I could do it more often... this a a clever spoof on rhyming and I like the words you chose to rhyme and each line is clever and actually means something...well done!

Thankfully it is not a crime to rhyme or I would have more citations that I had poems. That would be a lot of citations. Nice one my friend.

Wow! So true and well said.
I love it. Whimsical and full of rhymes. Now, your poem is worth more than a dime; we'll put them on the Antique's road show (just kidding). Now, I have a question: Did your muse ever rhyme???
