Sweet 'N Low

Sweet 'N Low

A Poem by Pete

HfOhLgFGvrt9gaj1yleDRQ

back and forth, to and fro
not quite sure which way to go
thinking you can hit a note so low
even whilst wielding a crooked bow
better the devil you love than the devil you only know

they said she was nothing but a rich b***h
gone astray as she tried to scratch a seven year itch
an unmistakable tish, tish, tish
cymbals lost control and crashed
cellos moaned aghast
as the ivory teeth of a piano gnarled and gnashed

violins sobbed
a musical genre was robbed
all because a drum had been beaten
low-hanging, forbidden fruit plucked and eaten
now i know it's true
sugar's not the only thing that can sweeten
