Cheers At The Finish Line

those overflowing nights were undeniably the best
cork flew and crystal clinked
smooth silk and fluent moves
needle finding its way in all the right grooves

clothes in an untidy pile
hurried breaths each on file
washed up on a paradise isle
no time or worries for style

night rejoiced
bodies coalesced as they read the braille of translated emotions
hearts collapsing like twin towers
spent seconds morphing into saved hours
a hurried marathon of magical powers

what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine
wet with the spillover of sparkling wine
much more than mere flesh in rhyme
crossing the tape amidst an explosion of

cheers at the finish line
