Luxuria

A Poem by Pete

Leonid Afremov - Wrapped Canvas Print
Painting by Leonid Afremov

lost in the throws of a spanish fly inquisition of soulful lust seeking unification
searching
probing
wanting
needing
fantasizing
adjoining

an impatient queen bee lying in wait for the sweet, rich nectar of passion's forbidden syrup
golden waterfall of cascading hair washing over unclad skin
an overabundant harvest in the flowering fruit of ladened lips
fingers tracing venturous curves
parts pressed like fine wine
dreams of bodies juxtaposed in sensual flagrancy
raw passion begging and pleading for the climax of resolve
an eruption of spewing, hot, molten lava
collapsing lost in a heaving, panting, bosomed mountain pass of eternity spent
no takeback
no rescind

taunted and sinned

you have given us a typically good read with a painting from an accomplished artist
I'd never heard of him previously so I had a look see
I have recently tried getting a bit more abstract (art wise that is)
not as easy as it looks
altho I am a nobody, I find his work a bit too colorful, which for me detracts from the overall
However, this painting works well (for me) because the subject matter is large enough that the background isn't able to dominate, but using all that color is a difficult thing to control.
Oh ya!! I'm supposed to be reviewing your poem which I don't mean to dismiss, at least not while you are hanging on to that sword
Nice presentation Pete

kind of you to say. thanks ... :)
Very effective and the female form makes the painting work. You captured the need and desire very well Pete. Nice work.
