Leaving A Mark

Leaving A Mark

A Poem by Pete

as another high tide of existence is receding and a prisoner of time is pleading
the once fertile ground of freshly turned memories in need of new seeding
torn heart and ripped soul bleeding
an empty hand with fingers needing
tears and a lone flower left 'pon a beckoning grave
neither faith nor love conceding
yet another life bookmarked

for continued, later reading
