niggardly, we kissed
stingily, we missed
in a bold, covert tryst
evasive love in our midst
never quite getting the gist

with but a mere flick of the wrist
perhaps next time we should make a list
that way glorious onramps won't get bypassed, let alone missed
then surely contrite hearts won't get hurt or quixotic feelings dissed
