Where I'll Be

Where I'll Be

A Poem by Pete
"

Every morning was a cheerful invitation to make my life of equal simplicity, and I may say innocence, with nature herself. - Thoreau

when thirsting, hung-over willows crouch down to sip at the shoulders of the river
when virid grass lazes as a laggardly shag carpet
when sensationalistic dandelions toting spinning parasols dot the meadow
and the wealthy scent of lilac perfumes the guiding, forgiving air

where geese squawk and kibitz about everything and nothing
where the sun dons its cheeriest, unclouded, freshly laundered t-shirt
where the psalms of pulled water over smoothed rocks mumble
and nothing but truth shines in my thinning, grey hair
where life always plays fair
don't bother calling or looking for me
i'll already be there
