Freefalling

Freefalling

A Poem by Pete
"

When the leaves fall, the whole earth is a cemetery pleasant to walk in. - Thoreau

"
Full “Falling Leaves” Moon Hike

strung up like charismatic christmas lights
bubbling, bold, bountiful and beautiful
the stars sparkled blamelessly with the effervescence of angels
in the carbonation of an eternal creed
along with depthless devotion
under the watchful eye of a majestic moon
providing the perfect backdrop for drifting innocence below

dabbed with the palette of hues from an impressionist master
like vagabond paratroopers
trusting god to pull the ripcord at just the right time
autumnal leaves parachuted stealthily down to the waiting ground below
the last lingering guests of an unforgettable, raucous soiree

sliding into seasonal provision
like giddy children gliding 'cross a hardwood floor in pajamas with feet
exhausted with warm memories
their spent canopies of summer shade curling upwards
lying down 'pon a gilded bed of happenstance
calling
sprawling

forever

freefalling

The beauty of this beautiful season how it provokes such rawness of potent equanimity with the reader. It's a funny thing we find death beautiful and call it whatever peaceful emotion pops us. It has such reverie and leaning towards the process how changes can be wonderful. "strung up like charismatic christmas lights
bubbling, bold, bountiful and beautiful" This line goes two ways with me: One being enlightened and the other describing the leaves in it's nature. Keep writing beautifully penned .. sincerely your friend in writing and life. p.s nice touch with the Tom Petty- Free Falling

I love to see the yard swimming in leaves and hear the periodic thump of acorns and pecans bouncing off whatever they like. That crisp smell that is Autumn mingled with hickory. Yes your poem has driven me to Afternoon walk.
