Postpartum

Postpartum

A Poem by Pete
"

We are ever dying to one world and being born into another. - Thoreau

"
SULLIVAN, JIM - IF THE EVENING WERE DAWN (LP) | CLEAR SPOT

in a lucullan filiation of eternity
an unequivocal nascency of existence
the seed of yet another immaculate conception was planted

an undeniable gestation of truth
the copulation of a capricious creation
a dawn of divinity
strained with the stretchmarks of faith

bearing down with the labor pains of latent prayers
the night was barefoot and pregnant with a new day

breech or fully within reach

what can i say

you know the way

"the night was barefoot and pregnant with a new day" especially like that line. had to go a-googlin' Pete! the flow, emotion and imaging would be much smoother had i a better vocabulary .. so thank you for some really great words ... "..lucullan filiation" and ".. unequivocal nascency .." packed full they are! .. the deep vein of Faith .. a sense of sarcasm and irony for me .. (closing 3 lines) ... and this "strained with the stretchmarks of faith" so relatable for anyone who tries Faith ;) deeply inspirational ... great language .. glad i did not miss this one sir!

Excellent, the complete image of new life ready to come forth. Not over done but smooth and vivid with imagery.
