unsettled: An Albatross Around One's Neck

it was the seventies
with all of its free-loving bennies
he was standing in the corner, locked in his familiar stance
so they asked robert to dance
but he just didn't have the moves
or the will to do that which behooves

his life like a bad train wreck
too weighed down by the tarnished gold and flightless albatrosses 'round his neck
fond of saying, "what the heck"
and watching star trek

he was never clear

like a bad check

"To be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts, nor even to found a school, but so to love wisdom as to live according to its dictates, a life of simplicity, independence, magnanimity and trust." - Thoreau
