There is considerable danger that a man will be crazy between dinner and supper; but it will not directly answer any good purpose that I know of, and it is just as easy to be sane. - Thoreau
i 'm always intrigued when people say, "he's crazy" or "she's nuts"
“Nations are possessed with an insane ambition to perpetuate the memory of themselves by the amount of hammered stone they leave. What if equal pains were taken to smooth and polish their manners? One piece of good sense would be more memorable than a monument as high as the moon.” - Thoreau

'Lunar lunacy and Other Senseless Sanity'
Pete,
This was great. It was an opportunity to see and just relax and accept the differences that we think are quirky or just uncool. This poem presented the statement, 'who cares.' Refreshing I say. I for one find that life can seem way to serious for my liking at times and yuk! I would rather not live like that. Good Job. Thoreau's statement really set the tone. I surprised my self and almost got to the end of the song that came with this great poem. Bless you and let's just relax, live and take ourselves and others with a grain of salt.

Reminds me of a Bukowski quote - "Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead." Not to say that such is a walk in the park for some people but rather in this realm as I call it insanity seems part and parcel of survival, cut off mechanisms, compartmentalisation, hiding away and so on and so forth all a norm I see now. Sad, so very sad that humanity feels so burdened and of course so judged for feeling so, poignant Pete, as always :)

I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
