a soulful prayer

between lightning 

and thunder.

a time for storms to ruminate.

and despondency and catgut to wail

for destiny to outrun fate.

and possibility to sing its aria

a chance to live a lifetime in seconds.

when square pegs find square holes.

and shackles break free

because light travels faster than sound.

inasmuch as what God preordains is rich

and profound ...
