Glory

Glory

A Poem by Pete
"

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? - 1 Corinthians 15:55

"

Unfelled atop a sick world's gaunt gallows.
Besmirched by hot coals in the battle's furnace.
This life flogs me.

There is no triumph in surrender.
No castle in the sky.
No revelation.

No scars to tell of faith's victory ...

Author's Note

Pete
"It is a momentous fact that a man may be good, or he may be bad; his life may be true, or it may be false; it may be either a shame or a glory to him. The good man builds himself up; the bad man destroys himself." - Thoreau
