No Two Ways About It

It is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things. - Thoreau

Pin auf Gedanken über das Alter

Stiffer to doubt than believe.
Harsher to stay than leave.
Richer to live than die.
Better hello than goodbye,
Harder to accept than ask why.

Brighter to crawl in faith than strut in despair.
More steady an angel's shoulder than Satan's lair.
Simpler the sure thing than a long shot bet.
Easier to remember than trying to forget.
Things I've not learned quite yet ...

Author's Note

Pete
"When we consider what, to use the words of the catechism, is the chief end of man, and what are the true necessaries and means of life, it appears as if men had deliberately chosen the common mode of living because they preferred it to any other. Yet they honestly think there is no choice left." - Thoreau
