Systemic Pandemic

Systemic Pandemic

A Poem by Pete
"

‘Tis healthy to be sick sometimes. -Thoreau

"
Coronavirus: Do masks protect you? Will summer save us? Busting ...

Streets are empty.
Fear is full.
Suspicion is king.
Doubt reigns.
Faith has fled.
Toilet tissue trucks deliver rolls of panic.
An unfathomable pathogen causes a sick society to change gears.
Even a desert has tears.
As history rewrites this year.

If you could look out my window.
See what I see.
Hear what I don't hear.
Feel what I feel.
Not touching what I've touched.
People wandering the streets with their masks like lost trick-or-treaters.
Not dreaming.
You'd run away screaming.
As folks go about their...
... COVID-nineteening ...

An apt description of many places these days. Saw people in a supermarket today who matched the description noted here. If the toilet tissue truck delivered today, however, one would have never known it. Ditto the hand sanitizer and disinfectant trucks.

Thank you for painting me a vivid tapestry of what I'm missing, hanging out here in the boondocks where nothing has changed, except for the amount of traffic on my little country lane (last weekend, no traffic at all! but more & more as this week has progressed -- still, we're talking 10 vehicles during morning rush hour!) I have never seen a person with a face mask, which is why I am in wonderment over all the people posting picture of ones being made by hand to fill the gap, etc. That's why I thank you for creating an amazingly intriguing view of what you're seeing! Here's hoping all is well with you & your loved ones! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

just as what had been expressed and seen everywhere the virus should keep our faith strong it is only one big hump towards our journey we have to beat it because for the fact that God will not give us a burden to make us weak but rather the opposite
