'Knock Turn Al'A Poem by PeteA name pronounced is the recognition of the individual to whom it belongs. He who can pronounce my name aright, he can call me, and is entitled to my love and service. - ThoreauI wanna act silly. Talk stupid. Dress ridiculous. Sleep all day. Drink deeply dented cans of Sprite. Talking to the trees. Praying on whitewashed knees. Skipping stones on a frozen pond. Staring at the sun. Snacking on a virid, avocado moon with tortilla chips. Doing whatever I please. Always late and never too soon. An honest peg in a dishonest hole. Flying the flag of a revolutionary soul. You can call me Al. Unconventionality's best pal. The guy who goes outside in the yard in his underwear to turn the sprinkler on. Driving off at the gas station with the hose still attached. The one everyone points their finger at and whispers about. Wearing sunglasses in the rain. Carrying an umbrella in a drought. Not giving a flying fig what others think.. Scratching my finger in wet paint to write. Guess I'll just have to be one of those people. You know, the ones who only come out at night. So move on over and make some room. Boom boom boom ... © 2020 PeteAuthor's Note
