Keep Out

Keep Out

A Poem by Pete
"

The only sin in the world is ignorance. - Thoreau

"
Image result for trapped in an alley

Soul heaving.
Salvation grieving.
Darting to and fro.
Heaven far and Hell aglow.
Graffittied bricks flank.
Barbed faith thwarts.
Iniquity covers nakedness with warts.

Cornered.
Trapped.
Like the rat you know you are.
Tomorrow is today.
The sign said, "Keep Out," but you went anyway.
Wishing your mud wasn't so damned blind.
If only in the dark recesses of your evil mind ...

I like the intro (first 47 seconds) and especially the ending (5:00 - end) of this song.

Pete, what I feel after reading this poem is the burden of conscience. You've described what the knowing mind and soul feel in the worst times, often a result of our own bad decisions, ignorance or stupidity. Thanks goodness for the conscience. Otherwise, our fall would be unbroken, quickened and unrecoverable. Good image and tune paired with another exceptional poem.
