Just Assaying

A Poem by Pete
"

Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence. - Thoreau

Image result for path that leads nowhere

A fool keeps walking the same path that leads nowhere until he's desperate and lost.
Faith cannot arrive until blindness departs.
Even roots endeavor for something more when surrounded by nothing.
Regardless of what the way may bring.
With a heavy heart and weary sigh.
They simply try ...

"Even roots endeavor for something more when surrounded by nothing" could become a classic quote, Pete. I find so much richness in the few words and verses. The above quote might explain why some stray from relationships and their faith. They become disoriented and dismayed.

This poem speaks to the value of perspective, changing our perspectives, maybe walking a different path or with different people. The poem stands alone as exceptional. That photo could be inspiration for its own poem, but fits well here. Nice work, Pete.

To respond to the question : They know that's why they repeat.Nothing is made with unconsciousness. We go to the path we are used to. It takes a while for us to change the path. It's like we are under the traffic light always red. We will move only when it turns green.

Many don't even bother to walk anymore...hiking the trails, climbing mountains, exploring the outdoors...
no, instead, the only walking we are doing is in Malls and from the car to the restaurant...
becoming an inert society...what is the logic in that?
i like this expressive piece...and Bruce Hornsby rocks...

This poem seems to be saying that while mindless repetition and blind faith lead nowhere, still one must not give up, whatever life may bring. To which I say amen. Those who fold their tents too soon may soon be checking out.

Some people will never learn, they keep making the same mistskes, are not prepared to try new things. That old saying came to mind 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks". Great little write here Pete. Well done.

Takes a lot of effort to change the habits of a lifetime. Hope you are well Pete.
I believe the song is more about the injustice of big corporations. Your poem sheds light with wise words that are very true Pete. Nice job.

About your author's note: Many many are doing just this. Going for a walk to malls and on city roads. About the poem: yes I agree but no one can really help old fools. Educate the new generation.
