A Poem by Pete
"

Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth. - Thoreau

In the not so dead of winter.
With a woolen, February sun pulled down snugly over my head.
Saline air fills my hybernating lungs.
Carried by a bashful breeze out on parole.
Today's mercury offers a little bit more.
I welcome it all, down by the shore.
The tide reciprocates.
Giving me a quick glimpse through Heaven's succint ...
 ... open door ...

Author's Note

Pete
"Summer is gone with all its infinite wealth, and still nature is genial to man. Though he no longer bathes in the stream, or reclines on the bank, or plucks berries on the hills, still he beholds the same inaccessible beauty around him." ― Thoreau.

Pete, though I dislike winter, I find truth and a peace in this poem. It's true the season can bring harsh days but it also offers beauty like no other season. The cold breeze on our skin (especially near the ocean) and the brilliant sunrises and sunsets remind us nature is its own artist. Another remarkable poem with an ideal photo.
