Off The Beaten Path

Off The Beaten Path

A Poem by Pete
"

At the extreme north, the voyagers are obliged to dance and act plays for employment. - Thoreau

Take my hand.
We'll dance endlessly into the night.
Strutting a sabean sabbatical in sackcloth.
One-stepping into oblivion.
Time will stop.
Inhibitions will drop.
Hearts will meld.
Eternity will be ours.
Our spirits will grow like colorful flowers in a field.
Treading on Heaven's fray.
Because where there's a "will" ...
... there surely must be a way ...

Author's Note

Pete
“A single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” - Thoreau

I believe you're on a showbiz kick, Pete. Music was the theme of the last of yours I read, now it's dancing. Though I have two left feet, I think I could really get into a dance such as you have described. By the way, spirits should be plural, not possessive.
