Down but Not Out

Down but Not Out

A Poem by Pete
"

To different minds, the same world is a hell, and a heaven. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"
Image result for falling down to hell

With a pulsating anthem pilfering and pounding what's left of an aged, decayed brain.
Worm-eaten and paranoid like a crooked line of cocaine.
I might be an emotional genius but fear I'm logically insane.
My elevator never seems to make it all the way to the top.
It gets in close proximity to pearly gates but entangled in a precipitous drop.
Standing on the edge of a cliff eight miles high.
Why oh why?
Hollering all the way down to a living Hell.
On top of the world before I fell.
Trying to clutch a plastic sky.
Someone please catch my sallow, suffering soul ...
... before I die ...
