Alter Call

A Poem by Pete
"

I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob. - Psalm 132:4-5

When I was a young man, I read the Bible and it kept me entertained.
Now I'm older and much has transpired in my life.
So I read it again.
This time ...
... it kept me alive ...

This is the crux of the fresh unexpected writing that you are known for. I never would've thought of either of these responses, upon reading the Bible. I read the Bible for the first time a couple years ago & it kinda blew me away to see how mankind was depicted in such a constantly unflattering light, & it reflects the very bleakness that I still see currently in the way mankind is going. I think reading the Bible deepened my jadedness becuz it became clear to me that this isn't going to change any time soon -- it's the nature of the beast. (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
