'Cuz he's David carrying Goliath's head. Drinking wine and pissing vinegar. Handcuffed to the breach. Wearing combat boots to tread low tide on castaway beach. Don't inquire and he won't tell. Why cream rises and Rome fell. With life hanging in the balance and the future uncertain. Like a worn, war-torn, sworn prophylactic. Living on the bohemian fringe. Hanging by a guitar string. Vomiting yesterday's religion. Donning the essence of ages past. Brandishing about uncommon vernacular. Refusing to answer questions asked. Better to whisper stagnant truth than scream moving lies. Unequivocal loser of fate's battle-royal prize. Playing piano in the Salvation Army's marching band. It was just his way.
