We're All LightA Poem by PeteThe light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us. Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star. - ThoreauTake my hand. Hold it tight. Everything will be alright. We'll kiss the sky with Jimi all along the watchtower. Singing songs as we pick some artificial flowers. When it rains we'll be riders on the storm with Jim. U2 can sing a holy hymn. As we wait for an LA woman on a lilypad with a peace frog. Floating in a led zeppelin. With a black dog. We'll even call Elvis. As we shake our pelvis. Safe, cozy-worm and all tucked in. While we go space truckin'. The cloud has been lifted. Truth's sand sifted. We'll be in our own little world. Whilst the flag of nothing-but-love is unfurled. Skating away on the thin ice of a new day. As we play and pray All it takes is a cheap trick. Thick as a brick. Strutting on the lips of Mick. If war breaks out we'll be generals and majors. Fighting life like teenagers. Armed with guns n' roses. As a blue wind stands still and poses. So come along with me on a stairway to heaven. The dice of our years adding up to the number seven. The music in our souls is bright. Out of sight. I know everything will be alright. It has to be 'cuz .. ... we're all light ... © 2019 PeteAuthor's Note
