While I have no experience in relationships -- why they last, why they don't -- your poem seems to nail the things that seem obvious to me, as I watch others go thru a somewhat predictable pattern of self-destructing their relationships with selfish or bad behavior. I love line 2 & also I love the word "viscosity" in the next line. These two lines, taken together are brilliantly crafted! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

relationships certainly have a propensity to go bad - hard to get a perfect match but nevertheless folks try. we can behave selfishly or badly. i got the word 'viscosity' from a review that Shy Joe wrote for my 'Panning for Principle' - i told him that i liked that word and wanted to work it into a write. thanks so much for sharing your astute, on-the-money observations margie ... :)

words and vocabulary fascinate me and i will do a write based on a single word that i like. i know a guy from syria whose language is arabic and he constantly asks me how to say things in english and what things mean. he told me that he is amazed at how many different ways there are to say things in english. english does have so many words that most of us barely scratch the surface with them. ... :)
