Today I bought a head at growth's market.
It was cold and floated.
Like that thing the Titanic struck.
I couldn't toss a salad with it.
Instead, it tossed you and me.
Sparing us from ptomaine by replacing 'toe' with 'row'.
Mixing truth with emotion.
More powerful than Caesar himself.
Cutting to the chase.
Releasing hidden flavor and inhibitions.
Stirring what lived inside.
Dressing us in vulnerability.
It 'let us' ...

From where I'm sitting, that head looks like it has frost bite! I seldom use iceberg anymore. I prefer romaine. It holds up, you know, like that thing the Titanic struck! ; )
