'In Sin Sear'A Poem by PeteThose people you rarely see who give you a phony, insincere hug or kiss. You know them. They sort of know you. There's nothing either of you can really do. At weddings and funerals. Even the grocery store. They give you less with the illusion of more. Drawing near as if to plant a kiss. Turning away at the last second in another near miss. They're unavoidable like an illicit drug. Shutting it off and pulling the plug. They lure you in as they lean over and draw close. Leaving you cheated like an ungracious gala host. Fulsome and specious with their artificial embrace. They enter your red zone then deny their two-face. Dishonest to a fault. Like an empty bank vault. Their half-puckered lips only meet cold air. In fake concern that cheats and doesn't play fair. Their fraudulent advances draw you in. Leaving you swindled like a faux, stick pin. Feigning care. There's nothing really there. They defraud true affection with their twisted tom-foolery. Like an overpriced piece of costume jewelry. They go through the motions but leave you in a lacking lurch. Like a mocking parrot that fell off its sanctimonious perch. Rolling toward you like a car that's run out of gas. They can all just kiss ... ... my big, fat, honest *ss ... © 2019 PeteFeatured Review
