Sanity.
Interwoven with vanity.
Elusive and evasive like graffitied profanity.
Normalcy.
A larceny hybernating in dormancy.
Forever seeking clemency.

I went about my life.
Outnumbered.
Unencumbered.
The world making no sense.
Trapped behind an invisible fence.
Watching people do this and that.
Hearing their nonsensical chit-chat.
Mouths mumbling mumbo jumbo.
Stirring like a spicy gumbo.

I was sure it was them.
Scarfing down bananas and crow at the buffet where I binged.
Turns out that I'm the one who was ...
... unhinged ...

Interesting rhyming in this one. I like the way the poem portrays the mental processes of the disturbed, possibly paranoid speaker. In my mental health career, I found this to be the mindset of those with personality disorders, who continually engaged in self defeating behaviors, but believed with certainty that the problem lay in the outer world, not in themselves.
