Seaside AirportA Poem by PeteMy life is like a stroll upon the beach. - ThoreauThe tide was on it's way out. The wet sand it left behind was just right. Not too hard. Not too soft. Perfect for a transitional tarmac. Truth's tower signaled an "All clear." Liberation was summoning and sanity was near. I had a free ticket to keep the monkeys off my back. And stop the demons from whispering their lies into my ears. So I got off of my beach chair and took off. Leaving my baggage behind. Sidestepping an occasional pebble or shell. Seagulls stood and watched as I made my way past. Some had just landed. Others were readying for takeoff. Most were relaxing, on their journeys, at the snack bar. Screeching and chattering gossip amongst themselves. "What's he doing?" "Where's he from?" "Where's he going?" "I've never seen him before." I smiled and nodded as I sprinted by.
