Before Too Long

Before Too Long

"

While a little faith may bring your souls to heaven, a lot of faith – clinging to God despite your circumstances – will bring heaven to your soul. - Skip Heitzig

Nailed in a travesty and crowned with a thicket's thorns.
Taking the bull by the horns.
Holding on to evasive faith.
Holy on the seventh and evil on the eighth.
Say what you will.
Do what you might.
Cling to a new day and shun the night.
Relentless and cutting.
A promised land abutting.
Stay the weary course.
There's a greater, spirited force.

I'm a weak man.
Unable to live up to creation's original plan.
In the belly of a great fish.
Clinging to a divine prayer and letting go of a fleshly wish.
Pelted with the bitter stones of an angry life.
Surrounded by hopelessness and shaded by strife.
Struck down and blinded on a dusty road.
Carrying the burden of redemption's heavy load.
The hardest thing I've ever done is right when everyone around me is doing wrong.
Thank Heaven the almighty is strong.
I'll be caught up in rescue's desperate rapture ...
... before too long ...
